Job Title: Program Associate

Department: Programming

Supervisor:

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Associate is responsible for the compilation, data entry, retrieval and information management of the program data base, schedule reconciliation, and general administrative duties pertaining to the operation of CPTV and its content services.

Responsibilities:

Program Schedule/ Data Accuracy and Review

* Review program air schedule for source, availability, and timing issues

* Monitor PBS Connect postings for version and timing adjustments communicate timings/updates/changes to appropriate Departments

Server/Archive and Tape Library Duties

* Maintain physical and virtual tape library

* Maintain programming database for accuracy of content

* Work with engineering/NOC staff to insure accurate implementation of the program schedule

* Schedule server and program recordings, and assign material IDs and clip types for engineering reports

* Implement program purge lists

* Maintain dub list procedures that ensure the accuracy of programming databases

Record Schedules

* Create and update record schedules including but not limited to programs, promo reels, and special requests

* Monitor PBS Connect for refeed postings

* Schedule refeeds as needed

Miscellaneous

* Compile and submit public file report on a quarterly basis

* Respond to carriage requests

* Obtain and provide programs from other stations as needed

* Assist with customer service requests

* Other duties as assigned

Skill and Qualifications:

* College degree desirable

* Traffic experience preferred 

* Excellent computer and database skills; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access required

* Superior communication and interpersonal skills

* Strong organizational abilities

* Positive attitude

* Ability to adapt to work schedule as needed

Job Title: Individual Giving Coordinator (Full-time)

Department: Development

Supervisor:

Job Summary: Provides clerical and administrative support for membership activities as well as customer service assistance and database research for the Endowment and Major Gifts Departments; includes coordination of solicitation activities, donor acknowledgements and recognition activities, data management and other tasks necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the unit

Responsibilities:

* Provide support for Customer Outreach Department with emphasis on resolving membership ticketing issues

* Assist with pledge shift supervision

* Assist with data entry during peak membership periods

* Provide assistance at CPBI fund raising activities as required

* Assist with large mailings and other activities

Skill and Qualifications:

Job Title: Graphic Designer

Department: Corporate Communications

Supervisor:

Job Summary: Oversee the creative design and production of corporate graphic products and materials

Responsibilities:

* Conceptualize, develop, and produce designs including, but not limited to, logos, corporate stationery, print advertisements, newsletters, brochures, signage, videotape covers, direct mail pieces, etc.

* Obtain price and production quotes from printers and other vendors; negotiate prices; arrange for press checks (as needed); track projects, troubleshoot, and ensure timely completion of print jobs

* Oversee magazine production and layout, including working closely with Service Bureau for production and checking of all proofs

* Develop and produce designs and layouts for company forms and general printed supplies

* Maintain graphics files, including images and network and archive art, as well as design supplies, equipment, etc.

* Design and execute computer graphics, computer animation and graphic treatments for Connecticut Public Television as well as other broadcasting events

* Consult on projects requiring visual elements, including on-air-productions, promotion spots, set design, etc.

* Ensure conformity to corporate style manual and branding/identity guidelines

* Assist in web site development as needed

Skill and Qualifications:

* Three years of experience in graphic design

* Graphic design degree (BFA) required; MFA preferred

* Expertise in design software, including Quark and Adobe's Creative Suite

* Thorough knowledge of printing, production techniques, pre-press and press check experiences

* Ability to interact with clients and assist with revisions

* Excellent organizational and communication skills

* Ability to occasionally work evening hours

* Aptitude to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Job Title: Major Gifts Manager

Department: Development

Supervisor:

Job Summary: Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts from current and prospective donors to support CPBI's Annual Giving and Endowment funds. Oversee the annual major donor and planned giving programs to meet established revenue goals; to acquire, renew and upgrade support levels; to cultivate and build a strong bond with donors; to identify prospects to both programs and to extend support recognition initiatives.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement initiatives to prospect, cultivate and solicit mid-level and major donor annual giving support from individuals and foundations; strategies include direct mail, telemarketing and personal contact to renew and upgrade support to Studio Society ($500-$999) and Leadership Circle ($1000+) programs * Develop and implement planned giving initiatives to cultivate and assist in soliciting gifts to benefit CPBI's Endowment Fund or restricted funding projects, including grant proposal writing when needed * Prepare and monitor annual budget of income and expense for major and planned giving department; report on progress toward established goals and adapt annual plans to reach financial targets * Manage and oversee database of major donors including collection and recording of research, cultivation, pledge and gift transactions and reporting * Meet with and solicit donors and prospects, including scheduling and coordinating donor visits with senior management and board members as needed * Develop timely communications with donors and prospects to cultivate the relationship with CPBI through mail, phone, personal visits and events * Assist in the development of promotional initiatives to support annual giving and planned giving efforts including print, web and on-air vehicle * Work with Senior Membership Director to conduct prospecting efforts to identify CPBI members for upgrading to major donor or planned gift * Oversee acknowledgements and assure timely recognition of support - written, personal, tax receipts and donor recognition initiative * Attend professional conferences and network with PBS, NPR and fund raising colleagues and associations * Attend station events and functions as needed * Other duties as assigned

Skill and Qualifications:
* Five or more years of development/fundraising experience * Knowledge of planned giving and estate planning * Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously * Strong writing and editing skills * Computer literate, including database management expertise * Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Job Title: Customer Service Specialist

Department:

Supervisor: Sr. Director of Membership

Job Summary: Provide outstanding customer service support for all constituents of CPBN’s services. Under the general direction of the Sr. Director of Membership, build customer service e-communications program. Additionally, work with the Director of Membership Marketing to manage membership e-renewal campaigns.

Responsibilities:
Become familiar with all CPBN’s services – CPTV, WNPR, cpbn.org, and CPBN sponsored events Become familiar with all CPBN membership practices Work closely with Membership database administrator and programming to import data for effective e-communication Work closely with Director of Membership Marketing to create e-mail response templates for general use in the unit Provide timely responses to constituents by phone, mail, and occasionally in person Monitor inbound call, voicemail, and e-mail volume to redirect customer service resources as needed Become proficient at entering data in Team Approach and run basic reports and query output files Update member records Work pledge shifts during CPNB on-air fundraising drives Assist with pledge entry to ensure timely processing Participate in company events as needed Other duties as assigned

Skill and Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills along with an unfailingly positive attitude a must Ability to assess a situation quickly and find acceptable solutions Ability to function as a team member to meet deadlines Experience with general database functions essential Background in e-communications a plus Experience working in member services department of nonprofit, member-supported organization a plus Ability to work flexible schedule a must, including early/late hours and some weekends
